A 58-year-old Trinidad and Tobago national has been found dead inside a pick-up truck in Belize City, Belize, after a night of excessive drinking.
Police are yet to determine the cause of death of the man popularly known as "Trini" but whom friends call "Danny".
Close friend, Eric Pandy said he had warned him about his excessive drinking.
"I told him be careful. He drinks too much. He takes too much alcohol and I told him to please stop drinking too much. He said no," Pandy said.
He says after drinking, "Trini" asked to sleep in his car.
"He would get in the car because he wants to sleep. Three to four of us were in the car and so I asked him if he wanted to sleep and he was high drinking. I told him to come in the car and sleep. This morning when I woke up, I told my friend over that side that my friend Danny died. I didn't know. I went to touch the glass of the vehicle two times. I told my friend that my good friend die. But he never believed that he died. It was when I went and opened the door and I touched him, I see him can't say anything. His heart was not pumping anything at all," Pandy said.
Police are yet to release his full name, saying he got the nickname "Trini" because of his home country, Trinidad and Tobago.
They believe that he had no family nor home in Belize and had been living on the streets for some time now.
