Two dead overnight, on Boxing Night

A 35-year-old man from St Joseph was killed during an argument while at a bar in St Augustine on Friday morning.

According to police, at about 4 am, Joel Collier was at Bamboo's Bar, College Road in St Augustine, when he got into an argument with another man.

Eyewitnesses told police that Collier walked away from the argument, however, the man he was arguing with whipped out a gun and shot him several times killing him on the scene.

On Sunday night, in an unrelated incident, one man was left dead and two others wounded during a shooting incident in Arouca.

According to a police report, at about 9.45 pm, a group of limers were at a house participating in a family gathering along Savanna Trace, off the Arima Old Road, when gunmen ambushed them and opened fire.

Anthony Mohammed, 28, died at the scene, while two others were wounded.

The wounded men were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, where they were treated and discharged.
