Two Point Fortin men are expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today, charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
Sheldon Burnett, 38, a barber, and Marlon Simon David, 49, both of Salazar Trace, Point Fortin, were arrested by officers of the Highway Patrol South Base, during an anti-crime exercise around 9:50am, on Saturday 16th June, 2018.
Officers were on mobile patrol along the M2 Ringroad, Debe, when they had cause to stop and search a silver Nissan Sylphy motor vehicle with two male occupants.
The search resulted in officers discovering a black plastic bag containing three kilogrammes of marijuana.
The drug has an estimated street value of $30,000.
Burnett and David were charged by PC Nathan Davis, of the Highway Patrol South Base, on Saturday 16th June, 2018.
