Two persons have been held in connection with the 5 million dollar airport heist.

On Wednesday a group of armed men entered the docking area of the Piarco international airport and made off with $5 million dollars belonging to the first citizen’s bank.

The money was intended to be transferred to the bank’s Tobago branches.

The four masked heavily armed men were attired in camouflage outfits when they entered the restricted area.

This morning the organised crime and intelligence unit conducted a raid in Logdenville and officers have taken a male and female into custody.

The pair is said to have been in possession of 250 thousand dollars in cash, linked to the robbery.

The two are at this time assisting officers with the investigation.
