The United National Congress will launch its Local Government campaign this coming Friday, the same day that a ruling on its election petitions is expected.
Justice Mira Dean Amourer is expected to deliver her judgement on the five election petitions before her, as presented by the Opposition UNC, those challenging the legitimacy of the EBC’s actions in extending the voting hours during the September 7th general election.
The party has announced that it will also launch its campaign with a public meeting at the Couva South office of Member of Parliament Rudy Indarsingh. The UNC has been conducting screening for local government elections for quite some time.
There has also been speculation regarding the possibility of a partnership arrangement in contesting the local government polls which are due later this year.
