The Guyana livestock development authority has sent samples from broiler farms to the University of Georgia.

This after farmers reported hundreds of sudden poultry deaths.

Farmers reported that the affected animals are not dying immediately.

They explained that the birds stop moving, and their heads fall to the ground with their eyes closed.

Deputy chief executive officer of the Guyana Livestock Development Authority Dr. Dwight Walrond, said that no particular disease had been linked to the deaths, and this is why they sent it to the US for further testing.
