A member of the police guard and emergency branch died in an accident on the priority bus route in Arima, this morning.
Reports are that Corporal Isaac was driving to his station in Aranguez—via the PBR near Olton Road, Arima—when he lost control of the car.
Eye-witness accounts confirm his vehicle's right front tyre blew out, causing the vehicle to swerve to the right and lose control.
The car spun and hit a full 12-seater maxi taxi heading east.
Police say Isaac died instantly.
The scene of this morning's tragic accident, which left one person dead, and at least two others seriously injured.
Guardian Media understands the police officer's daughter was also in the car.
According to police, Corporal Isaac was taking his daughter to school before heading to work. They recovered a purple book bag and a black laptop bag from the car.
Fire Services and an ambulance took Isaac’s daughter to the Arima District Health Facility.
The maxi taxi driver also was seriously injured in the accident.
