Gilbert was working on a construction site near his Carlton Lane home when police arrived at around 1 pm.

Investigators claim Gilbert began shooting at the officers in a bid to escape and that the officers responded, shooting Gilbert twice in the back.

He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said a gun was found in Gilbert's possession but residents argued that Gilbert was not carrying a weapon.

His sister is heard in the video saying, "He didn't do alyuh nothing....alyuh shoot him in his chest".
