Water shortage in Northeast Trinidad today

Cus­tomers in north­east Trinidad served by the North Oropouche Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant have been ad­vised of an in­ter­rup­tion in their wa­ter sup­ply from mid­night Sat­ur­day un­til mid­night Sun­day.

WASA said the in­ter­rup­tion is nec­es­sary in or­der to fa­cil­i­tate emer­gency re­pairs to a leak on the 42-inch trans­mis­sion pipeline, along the Churchill-Roo­sevelt High­way, Pi­ar­co.


Ar­eas af­fect­ed in­clude San­gre Grande (town cen­tre), San­gre Chiq­ui­to, Man­zanil­la, Coalmine and Guaico/Guaico Tamana.

WASA ad­vised that it may take up to 24 hours for the ser­vice to nor­malise in af­fect­ed ar­eas. For fur­ther in­for­ma­tion or as­sis­tance, cus­tomers can con­tact WASA's Call Cen­tre toll-free at 800-4420/4426.
