Woman arrested following police exercise at her home

A La Horquetta woman has been arrested following a police exercise at her home.

During the search, the police discovered a gun, ammunition and marijuana.

The following is the TTPS statement:

A La Horquetta woman was arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition discovered, after officers of the Northern Division, carried out a search of her home, during an anti-crime exercise, yesterday.

Officers conducted the exercise between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm, on Monday 7th August 2017, during which, they arrested a 41-year-old woman of Phase 7, La Horquetta.

A search of the house resulted in the discovery of a Kimber pistol, along with a magazine containing two rounds of .45mm ammunition, and 50.2 grammes of marijuana.

The officers then proceeded to a bushy area at Mission Road, Five Rivers, Arouca, around 8:55 pm, where they discovered one shotgun, along with one 12 gauge cartridge.

No one was arrested in connection with the find.
