Dylan Carter finished 5th in the Men's 100m Freestyle final today at the FINA World Cup in Japan. Carter clocked a time of 47.75 seconds. For the second day in a row, Russian Vladimir Morozov won gold in a time of 45.16 seconds. Australian Kyle Chalmers was also back on the podium, this time picking up silver. Like he did in the 50m freestyle yesterday, Carter topped Heat 1 in a time of 48/06 seconds. He qualified as the seventh fastest swimmer.
Carter also competed in the Men's 50m Backstroke. Having qualified for the final, he missed out on the podium, placing 4th in a time of 23.43 seconds. China's Jiayu Xu took home gold in a time of 22.87 seconds. American Michael Andrew won his second silver in two days in a time of 23.17 seconds. Carter once again topped Heat 1 in a time of 23.73 seconds. He qualified for the final with the fourth fastest time.
