The Hurricane relief cricket match played last October between a T&T Red Force team and a Caribbean XI yielded close to $TT900,000 to go towards helping the hurricane ravaged islands.

The committee that chaired the event handed over the cheque on Monday morning to United Way, its official partner in implementation.

The money will be distributed in four areas, including funds going towards the rebuilding of Barbuda, which was virtually wiped out by Hurricane Irma, $US10,000 in building a cricket facility on the island of Dominica, training citizens of Dominica in various trades, and the supplying of building materials for schools.
