Caught on Camera: Driver slams through wall on Ariapita Avenue

Two elderly passengers were lucky to escape serious injuring after the vehicle one of them was driving, slammed through the wall of an establishment on Ariapita Avenue last night.

The immediate aftermath of the accident was captured by a passerby whose narration could be heard on the almost 3-minute video.

The video has only been altered to remove instances where obscene language has been used.

Highway accident claims one life

An early morning accident along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway has claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

The incident took place around 7:15 am near the El Soccorro walkover.

It is believed the victim identified as 46-year-old George Wendell Forde was proceeding west on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway when he collided with a pedestrian who was crossing the road. 

Forde was pitched off his motor bike and thrown several feet into the air. 

The man's brother we are told was at the scene and confirmed he died. 

Unidentified man cut in half in trailer accident

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who was cut in two by an 8-wheeler truck and trailer in Barataria Thursday night.

Police believe the man was homeless.

The incident occurred around 8 pm Thursday.

Police say the man was standing near the Maritime roundabout when the vehicle lost control and hit him, dragging him several metres in the process.

The man was cut in two by the torso .

Barataria police are continuing investigations.

Caught on Camera: Man thrown from car but survives Tobago accident

A Tobago man was lucky to survive with his life after being thrown out of the car in which he was traveling as it flipped several times when it collided with another vehicle.

The accident occurred along Milford Road in Canaan on Thursday.


Footage captured from a security camera shows the car trying to overtake another vehicle before the two cars collide.

One of the vehicles flipped several times, during which one of the occupants was thrown out of the vehicle in mid-air.

82-year-old man killed in Cocorite accident

An 82-year-old Belmont man became the country's latest road fataity in an accident in Cocorite last night.

The victim has been identified as Carl Andrews. 

Reports indicate that Andrews was attempting to cross the West-bound lane of the Western Main Road near the West Shore Hospital, when he was struck by a car. 

He died at the scene. 

This brings to four, the number of people killed in road accidents in the last three days.

One man killed, three injured in road accident

One man was killed and three people injured in an accident on Sunday evening.

Police reports indicate that around 10 pm, the driver of a vehicle registered PCH 6115, was proceeding west along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in the vicinity of the Prisons Sports Club, Arouca when he lost control and crashed into a ditch.

The driver and two other occupants survived the accident.

However, one male occupant was killed.

The name of the victim is yet to be released.

43-year-old Tabaquite mother killed after being hit by car

A 43-year-old mother died after being knocked down while walking home Sunday evening.

According to eyewitnesses, around 6:30 pm, the victim, Sharlene Boodram was walking along San Pedro Road, Poole, in the company of her brother when the accident occurred. 

CNC3 was told a B12 vehicle crashed into a parked B15, spun out of control and crashed into the woman.

She died at the scene.

A relative said Boodram normally walks home.

Special reserve police officer dies

A special reserve police officer as died, almost two weeks after being injured in a car crash.

The officer, Jainarine Bedassie, was last attached to the CCTV unit based at the Chaguanas borough corporation.

He was hospitalised at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex following a car crash in the vicinity of Petersfield main road, Chaguanas on August 13th.

He died yesterday.
