Woman who gave birth on Curepe pavement killed in road accident

A woman who first made headlines for delivering a baby on the roadside in Curepe, has been killed in a vehicular accident.

It is being reported that the 36-year-old woman, identified as Crystal Dennis, was hit by a police vehicle overnight.

She was standing along the Priority Bus Route in the vicinity of the TML Primary School when she was knocked down.

It is also being reported that the vehicle was driven by an officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force.

On June 2nd 2015, Dennis was captured on video delivering her baby girl on the streets in Curepe.

Police officer critical following accident

An officer is now warded in a critical condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a red band maxi taxi along the Priority Bus Route, in the vicinity of Constantine Park, Tunapuna.

A police statement says the accident involving, No. 7609 PC Jasanie Davis, who is attached to the Court and Process Branch, Port of Spain, occurred at around 1:00pm today Tuesday 28th March, 2017.

The driver escaped with minor injuries. 


Motorcyclist dies in accident

A motorcyclist has been killed in a road accident.

Police say Clint McIntyre was travelling along Tumpuna Road in Arima around 11pm last night when he lost control of his bicycle.

The 43-year-old man slammed into a curb where he was fatally injured.

Arima Police are continuing investigations.


Pregnant woman dies in accident

A 22-year-old pregnant woman has been killed in a vehicular accident.

The accident occurred around 7 pm on Wednesday.

The driver of a Hyundai Elantra was proceeding west along Soogrim Road, Endeavor, Chaguanas when she observed a vehicle proceeding east trying to overtake another.

The driver of the Elantra pulled to her right to avoid colliding with the car but slammed into a Toyota Corolla.

Rochelle St Louis, a front seat passenger in the Toyota Corolla vehicle was killed upon impact.

UK national killed in freak accident at Princes Town concrete batching plant

A man has been killed in a freak accident at a concrete batching plant in Princes Town.

He has been identified as 55-year-old John Morris, a national of the United Kingdom.

He was crushed after slipping and falling into equipment at the plant this morning.

He was rushed to the Princes Town Health Facility where he was pronounced dead.

The plant is located on the M1 Ring Road, Maltida, Princes Town.

Police are conducting investigations.


Police officer dies in accident

A police officer has lost his life in a vehicular accident at the Macaulay Flyover on the Solomon Hochoy Highway.

The accident occurred on the South-bound lane after midday today.

The vehicle he was driving crashed through the barriers and landed on a concrete embankment just below the roadway.

The officer has been identified as PC Sherwin Cedeno of the K9 Unit.

Investigations are continuing.

The vehicle with the woman and children was crossing the highway when the vehicle slammed into them.

A mother and her two children were killed in an accident on the corner of Mausica junction and the Priority Bus Route around 11 pm last night.

She has been identified as 34-year-old Carla Colins of Belmont.


According to reports, the driver of a B14 vehicle allegedly ran the red light and slammed into two cars, including the one carrying the mother and her children.

Man killed in hit and run accident

Police are searching for a driver who knocked down a 46-year-old man and left him for dead at the side of the road on Monday night

According to police reports, around 9 pm Jagdeo of Demerara Heights was walking along the westbound lane of the Churchill -Roosevelt Highway when he was knocked down. Police said after hitting Jagdeo, the driver failed to stop leaving a bleeding Jagdeo at the side of the road.

Jagdeo was taken to the Arima Health Facility where he died while being treated.
