Loaded gun, marijuana seized

A loaded pis­tol and a small quan­ti­ty of mar­i­jua­na have been seized by of­fi­cers of the In­ter-Agency Task Force (IATF) dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the Laven­tille area.

The Po­lice Ser­vice said a par­ty of of­fi­cers at­tached to IATF Strike Team car­ried out a search of a bushy area near the bas­ket­ball court in Strak­er Vil­lage.

The search led to one Beretta PX4 Storm pis­tol fit­ted with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing three rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion and a plas­tic bag con­tain­ing 45 grammes of mar­i­jua­na.

Police seize pistol and ammunition during anti-crime exercise

One loaded pistol and a small quantity of marijuana have been discovered by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) during an anti-crime exercise in the Laventille on Boxing Day.

According to police reports, PC Baksh along with a party of officers attached to IATF Strike Team carried out a search  in a  bushy area near the basketball court in Straker Village. 

The search led to one Beretta PX4 Storm pistol fitted with a magazine containing three rounds of 9mm ammunition and a plastic bag containing 45 grammes of marijuana. 

11 arrested as police seize guns, ammunition, police and army gear, and stolen vehicles

Police have arrested 11 persons and seized a quantity of narcotics, ammunition, 2 guns, police and army gear, as well as stolen cars in an early morning raid. 

According to police reports, members of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) executed search warrants at two houses at Pleasantville, San Fernando, around 1:30 am today.

 A quantity of marijuana, a loaded pistol, a loaded submachine gun, three army camouflage uniforms, four walkie-talkies, a pair of handcuffs and a police operational shirt with police insignia were seized from a house.

Family of three appears in court charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition

A family of three has appeared before the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court, after being jointly charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, over the weekend. 

Clint Ramkissoon, 39; his wife Taslimah Meighoo Ramkissoon, 23; and his brother Daniel Ramkissoon, 37, all of Toco Main Road, Matura, stood before Senior Magistrate Gillian Scotland, on December 10th to answer to the charges. 

Chaguanas man sentenced one year hard labour for possession of two firearms

Malcolm Williams, 38, of Chaguanas, has been sentenced to one-year hard labour for possession of two firearms after appearing before the Mayaro Magistrates’ Court, earlier today. 

Williams pleaded guilty to the offence of possession of firearms and not guilty to possession of ammunition when he stood before Magistrate Alicia Chankar on December 10th.

 The ammunition possession charges were laid after a search warrant was executed at his home on December 9th by officers of the Mayaro Criminal Investigations Department (CID). 

Debe man charged with possession of ammunition

One man has been arrested and charged for possession of ammunition and a prohibited weapon, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Debe district yesterday.

During the exercise, officers of the Barrackpore Criminal Investigations Department, executed a search warrant at the home of a suspect at Transfer Village, Debe on Wednesday.

The search resulted in officers discovering one AK-47 magazine loaded with 25 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, hidden in the house.

Tobago cops seize ammunition

Over 90 rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion were found and seized by To­ba­go po­lice on Mon­day night.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, the il­le­gal am­mu­ni­tion was dis­cov­ered at Mt. Pleas­ant around 10 pm fol­low­ing a tip-off.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands that the To­ba­go Di­vi­sion­al Task Force led by PC Moses was on pa­trol when of­fi­cers re­ceived in­tel­li­gence in­form­ing them of where the am­mu­ni­tion was be­ing hid­den.

They went to an aban­doned lot at Robert Trace Ex­ten­sion and searched the area.

Tableland man held with homemade shotgun and ammunition

A 29-year-old man from Nohar Road, Tableland, was arrested by officers of the St. Mary’s Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise in Moruga last night. 

According to police reports,  officers were on mobile patrol along Saunders Trace, St. Mary’s Village, Moruga, around 11:00 pm on November 25th, when they had cause to stop and search a makeshift camp with a lone male occupant. 

The search resulted in officers finding a homemade shotgun with three rounds of 12 gauge cartridges. 

The suspect was arrested in connection with the finds.
