Police have seized an AK-47 weapon, ammunition, and drugs worth half a million dollars in an exercise in Vistabella.
Reports are that during the period 3 am and 8 am today an anti-crime operation coordinated by Senior Supt Mohammed and supervised by ASP Ramdeen in the San Fernando, La Romain and Marabella districts.
A search warrant was executed at 22 Wharton Street, Vistabella.
A pistol and a quantity of ammunition were found hidden in an apartment in Penal by officers of the South Western Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the district over the weekend.
The exercise, supervised by Sgt. Terrence Victor, was conducted around 7:45 pm, on Saturday 27th January, 2018, during which officers proceeded to an apartment building at Fazal Avenue, Penal.
Upon arrival, the officers observed several persons fleeing from the premises.

Two men were arrested and a revolver and one round of ammunition seized during an anti-crime exercise by officers of Point Fortin Police Station over the weekend.
Officers conducted the exercise around 11 am on Saturday, during which they proceeded to Pundit Street, Capde-Ville, where they observed three men seated on the steps of a dilapidated house.
Upon seeing the officers, the men ran off.
However, two of the suspects were subsequently held.

IATF officers from the Duncan Street Post, were on mobile patrol at St. Paul Street, Laventille, when they responded to a report of loud explosions in the vicinity of Pleasance Terrance, Block 8, around 9:45 pm, on Thursday.

Police have discovered a shotgun, a cartridge and camouflage clothing during an anti-crime exercise in Moruga over the weekend.
Officers of the Moruga Police Station conducted the exercise between 6 am and 1 pm, on Sunday 31st, December, 2017, during which they proceeded to Edward Trace, Moruga, where they discovered a camp, approximately four miles into a forested area.
A search of the camp resulted in one 12-gauge shotgun, containing one 12-gauge cartridge and the camouflage clothing discovered hidden inside a latrine.
