Two men are currently in police custody for possession of a firearm and ammunition, after being arrested during an anti-crime exercise in the La Romaine district earlier this morning.
The two men, ages 35 and 29, of La Brea and Embacadere respectively, were arrested around 12:10 am on Monday 14th May, 2018, by officers of the San Fernando Police Station, along Gulf View Link Road, La Romaine.
During the exercise, officers had cause to stop and search a burgundy Nissan Cefiro motor vehicle with two male occupants.
Kyle David, 23, and Kernel David, 21, both of Lamont Street Extension, Longdenville; and Kellon Lucien, 20, of London Street, Longdenville, are expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate tomorrow charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition
According to police reports, during an anti-crime exercise conducted by the Central Division Operations Unit in Enterprise on May, 8th, officers acting on information received proceeded to Isaiah Lane, Lamont Street Extension, Longdenville, where they observed three men behaving in a suspicious manner next to a building.
One Beretta pistol with an extended magazine and 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition were found during at anti-crime exercise in Barataria today.
According to the TTPS acting on information officers attached to the North Eastern Division Task Force went to Jojo Lane, El Socorro and conducted a search under a bridge where they found the gun and ammunition.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr. Supt. (AG) Surrendra Sagramsingh.
No arrest has been made in connection with the find.
A Moruga man is expected to appear before a Princes Town Magistrate today, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Rolan Ramjit Rooplal, 50, a farmer, of La Fortune Trace, Moruga, was arrested during a joint exercise between the Moruga Police Station and the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, on Monday 30th April, 2018.
The exercise, which was coordinated by Sgt. Deodath Seepersad and led by Cpl. (Ag.) Kishore Ramsingh, took place between 9:45 pm and 12:30 am, in the Moruga district.
Victor Cameron, 40, a mechanic was arrested by officers of the Gaparilllo Police station during an anti-crime exercise in the district.
According to a release from the TTPS, on Friday 27th April, acting on information officers went to a house at Mayo road, where they discovered a box containing one Tangfolio pistol loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of .9mm ammunition and two grammes of marijuana.
After searching the suspect officers seized one Amadeo Rossi revolver loaded with four rounds of 38mm ammunition.

An anti-crime exercise, in the Arouca district, has resulted in an ammunition haul being made by Northern Division Task Force (NDTF) officers, yesterday.
Officers of the NDTF Area Central, under the supervision of Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Michael Daniel and led by Sgt. Ishmael Pitt, conducted the exercise between 10 pm and 2 am, on Sunday 29th April, 2018.
Acting on information, the officers proceeded to an abandoned wooden structure at Windy Hill, Arouca, around 1 am, where they conducted a search.
For the period January 1st, 2018 to April 16th, 2018, the Trinidad and Tobago Police (TTPS) Service has recorded a 69% increase in the seizure of ammunition and a 9% increase in firearm seizures, when compared to the same period in 2017.
During the 2017 period, 3,199 assorted rounds of ammunition were found and/or seized by the TTPS, while the 2018 period saw 5,391 assorted rounds of ammunition being discovered and/or seized.
Firearm seizures in 2017 resulted in 277 weapons being taken off the streets when compared to the 302 seized for the period under review in 2018.

During the exercise, officers proceeded to an apartment in Maloney Gardens, where they executed a search, which resulted in one Smith and Wesson revolver loaded with four rounds of .38 ammunition being seized.
