A Freeport man was arrested and a quantity of ammunition found by officers of the Freeport Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise in Freeport on Monday.
The officers conducted the exercise, which was supervised Insp. (Ag.) Dane James, between 5 am and 2 pm on Monday 2nd April, 2018.
During the exercise, officers executed a search warrant at the Siewdass Road, Freeport home of a 44-year-old man.
There, they seized a black plastic packet, containing five rounds of .38mm ammunition, concealed under the suspect’s bed.
A quantity of ammunition was discovered by officers of the Central Division Operations Unit, during an anti-crime exercise, in the district, yesterday.
The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Inraj Balram, supervised by ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith, was conducted between 8 am and 1 pm on Monday 2nd April, 2018.
Acting on information, officers proceeded to an abandoned concrete structure at Circular Drive, Enterprise, where they found a black plastic bag containing 13 rounds of 5.56 ammunition.
No one was arrested in connection with the find.
A pistol and quantities of ammunition and marijuana were discovered by officers of the La Horquetta Police, during an anticrime exercise, conducted in the La Horquetta district this morning, police said in a statement.
Officers conducted the exercise around 6:20 am during which they proceeded to Marjorie Padmore Street, Phase 2, La Horquetta, where they conducted a search of a bushy area.
The search resulted in a pistol, two rounds of .38mm ammunition and 350 grammes of marijuana being discovered in a plastic bag.
The drug has an estimated street value of $3,500.

Officers were on mobile patrol in Windy Hill, Arouca, around 5:20 pm, on Saturday, when they observed a man walking along the roadway, acting in a suspicious manner.
The man was stopped and a search conducted.
The search resulted in 30 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition and 10 rounds of 9 mm ammunition, as well as 50 grammes of marijuana, being discovered in his possession.
A quantity of assorted ammunition was discovered by officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad, during an anti-crime exercise in the Woodbrook district, early this morning.
Officers were on mobile patrol along Rosalino Street, Woodbrook, around 12:45am, on Tuesday 13th March, 2018, when they observed a man walking along the roadway.
Upon seeing the officers, the man jumped over a wall and made his escape.
A 29 year-old-man has been arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Police say the man was held after a chase at the St Paul Street, Clifton Towers Bldg 3, around 10:30 am.
Police say a Jericho 941 pistol and 13 rounds of 9 mm ammo were seized from the man.

An Arima man was arrested yesterday after a quantity of ammunition and a pistol was found in the vehicle he was driving.
Police officers attached to the Arima CID noticed a Toyota Axio break a red light along the Demerara Road, Wallerfield.
The officers intercepted the vehicle and recovered a black Glock pistol, loaded with a magazine containing four rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The suspect is expected to be charged with dangerous driving, driving without a seatbelt, breach of a traffic light and disorderly behaviour.
