An Anti-Crime Exercise conducted yesterday in the Northern Division has resulted in three persons being arrested, and the seizure of one round of 12-gauge cartridge, camouflage clothing and an army jacket and trousers.
An official statement from the TTPS explains that during the exercise, officers executed a search warrant at a house in Hilltop Drive, Maturita Extension, Arima, where the items were found and seized, and the two male occupants of the house at the time of the search were arrested.
Another murder was recorded in Arima on Thursday night.
According to a police report, at about 8.30 pm, 43-year-old Julien Caleb was standing at the corner of Eastern Main Road and Kingdom Avenue when a gunman walked up to him and shot him dead.
Julien Caleb was the third resident from Malabar to be killed in the last 12 days.
Police said Caleb lived at Richard Street in Malabar and was a barber.

According to reports, four persons were shot, with three of them succumbing to their injuries.
The fourth shooting victim remains warded at hospital.
The victims have been identified by their aliases only, thus far—Dimitry, Nyron and Jordan.
Reports are that the shooting incident occurred in the early hours of this morning at Demerara Road in Arima.
CNC3 NEWS understands that the assailants, allegedly dressed as police officers, walked into the area at 1 am, and gunfire erupted.
Three people were shot and wounded on Tuesday morning, ironically, in the same area where three people were found hacked to death on Monday morning in Arima.
The shooting occurred ten minutes after a man was arrested on a domestic violence report. It is alleged he physically assaulted a relative.
The victims have been identified as 43-year-old David Richardson alias “Scratchie”, of LP300 Getwell Avenue Extension; 22-year-old Jerlene Richardson, also of LP300 Getwell Avenue Extension; and 40-year-old Kelly Andrews, of River Street, Sangre Grande.
Confirmed reports of a shooting incident in the wee hours of this morning in Arima…
Details are still coming in but CNC3 NEWS understands that three persons have been shot and injured in the incident, which allegedly took place in the same area as Monday’s triple murder.
Reports are that at about 2:30 am, a man identified only by the nickname ‘Scratchy’, and two women, were all shot in Gatwell Avenue in Pinto Road, Arima
All three were rushed to hospital for treatment, however, there is no confirmation yet on the extent of their injuries.
A gunman opened fire on a group of young men who were liming in Arima on Monday night.
According to reports, as the group dispersed with the men running in different directions, the gunman singled out Keefa Bartholomew and chased after him shooting him eight times in the chest.
The incident occurred shortly after 10 pm at Calvary Hill.
Bartholomew was taken to the Arima District Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said Bartholomew was recently seen in a video that went viral on Six Use Media, with him posing with illegal firearms.
A man was gunned down in Arima on Wednesday morning.
Guardian Media understands that at about 10 am, a man identified as Dexter "Buju" Murray was at Southerland Road, off Olton Road, when a gunman approached him and shot him dead.
Murray's last known address was given as San Juan.
A motive is yet to be established for the killing.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in helping to locate a 19 year old man of Tumpuna Road, Arima.
Marlon Burke Junior has been missing since Sunday November 10th.
His family filed a missing persons’ report with police yesterday.
They say Marlon left home at 5:51 pm on Sunday afternoon, saying he was walking out the street. He has not been seen since. At the time, Marlon was wearing a pair of three-quarter jeans, a white vest and a pair of black Nike slippers.
UWI’s Seismic Research Centre has documented an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on the Richter scale, at 4:11 this morning, at the north-eastern tip of Venezuela.
The earthquake was situated at latitude: 10.75 north, and longitude: 62.20 west. It was at a depth of 10 km.
For Trinidadians, the quake was located 77 km west of Port of Spain; 99 km north west of San Fernando; and 102 km west of Arima.

A shooting in Arima has left one man dead.
CNC3 News understands at around 9 p.m. last night Kevin 'Pencil' Lochan was gunned down along Punette Avenue, Pinto, Arima.
Police say Lochan was celebrating his birthday at a lime in the area, when a silver wagon pulled up and the occupants opened fire.
He died on the spot.
Police say Lochan was well-known to them.
