Although admitting that Port-of-Spain South MP Marlene McDonald inquired whether he knew of an investigation into her, Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi denies making any queries to the police.
Al-Rawi said a few months before McDonald was arrested in a corruption investigation last month, she approached him in the Parliament.
Speaking to reporters at Skinner Park yesterday, he said McDonald told him as a matter of fact that Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar had informed the MP about her impending arrest.

Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi ceased to be a director of Zaman Enterprises Ltd just three weeks before it began talks to lease office space to the Government.
According to company registration documents received yesterday, Al-Rawi ceased to be a director of Zaman Enterprises on November 8, 2018 and was replaced by his relative Abraham Al-Rawi.
Three weeks later, Al-Rawi's wife, Mona Nahous and the Government re-opened discussions about leasing the office space for three years.
Members of the prison officers association will be meeting with attorney general Faris Al-Rawi this morning to further discuss security arrangements for members of the protective services.
This is the second meeting the association will be having with members of the government to discuss security arrangements.
