TTDF begins relief work in the Bahamas
T&T Defence Force (TTDF) personnel have begun their relief operations in the Bahamas.
In a press release issued, this morning, TTDF public affairs officer Lieutenant Sherron Manswell said that the organisation's 100 member team started operations on Monday by meeting with Director of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Stephen Russell, who is coordinating relief efforts in the islands of the archipelago ravaged by Hurricane Dorian.
School students rally behind the Bahamas
Children in schools across T&T have been asked to donate non-perishable food items to assist persons from The Bahamas who have been displaced by Hurricane Dorian.
The relief effort which is being coordinated by the Ministry of Education will span a period of two weeks from September 16 to 27.
