BPTT'S Angelin platform has arrived in T&T

BPTT's Angelin platform which was fabricated in Mexico has arrived inT&T.

It's a project that t&t lost to Mexico.

The platform was not fabricated in t&t because of the tight timetable in getting the project done in time in bringing natural gas from the offshore platform.

It's BPTT's  15th offshore platform.

The Angelin facility will be located 60 kilometres off the south-east coast of Trinidad.

First gas is expected in the first quarter of 2019.

Bp appoints new head of T&T operations

Energy giant Bp has appointed its first female to head its local office.

Claire Fitzpatrick is now the Regional President of BpTT.

She takes over from Norman Christie who was given a new position as joint head of the Bp Group Chief Executive's office.

Christie's promotion was announced back in February and took effect since April 1st.

The new Regional President of BpTT previously managed Bp's upstream joint venture interests in Australia.

She says she is looking forward to working with the BpTT team and stakeholders.


Chamber: T&T must stay the course following BpTT gas find

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce says the country must not lose sight of the larger national goals of diversifying and transforming the economy, despite the recent gas discoveries made by BpTT.

The Chamber issued a statement Monday calling for the country to stay the course even with the good news of the BpTT find.

"The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce (T&T Chamber) welcomes news of recent gas discoveries by BP Trinidad & Tobago (bpTT), with its Savannah and Macadamia exploration wells.
