Jet put into service on airbridge after several morning cancellations

Caribbean Airlines is advising that due to aircraft constraints, the airline has consolidated some of its services on the domestic air bridge for today, 28 December 2017.

The airline says these consolidated services are being operated by the airline’s Boeing 737 jet fleet and adds that customers holding confirmed tickets for the flights that have been consolidated, have been advised.

Caribbean Airlines is reassuring customers that contingencies are in place.

This follows the cancellation of several flights on the airbridge this morning.

CAL resumes flights to St Maarten as world-famous airport reopens

Caribbean Airlines (CAL) says it resumes scheduled service to St Maarten, today, 11 October 2017, following the re-opening of the Princess Juliana International Airport on 10 October, for commercial operations.

The airport was badly damaged by the passage of Hurricane Irma.

CAL operates BW 456 and BW 457 in/out of St Maarten from its hubs in Piarco, Trinidad and Kingston, Jamaica every Wednesday and Saturday.

Former Digicel Play boss is new Caribbean Airlines CEO

Caribbean Airlines (CAL) has announced the appointment of Garvin Medera as the Chief Executive Officer, effective October 10, 2017.

Medera is formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Play, a position he held from December 2015 until his departure earlier this month.

Prior to the role of CEO, Digicel Play, he served in several key leadership positions at Digicel including Chief Operating Officer, General Manager Tobago and Chief Technical Officer, managing the company’s full operational portfolio.

Caribbean Airlines still unable to fly into St Maarten

Caribbean Airlines (CAL) says it is still unable to operate its scheduled services into St Maarten, as the Princess Juliana International Airport remains closed to commercial air traffic.

CAL says that customers with tickets for travel purchased before 05 September 2017 to/from St Maarten only are advised of the following:

CAL cancels 5 flights due to Hurricane Maria

Caribbean Airlines is advising that due to the closure of the George F.L. Charles International Airport, St. Lucia, and strong storm force winds in Barbados due to Hurricane Maria, the following flights for 18 September, 2017 are cancelled:

BW 434 Port of Spain to St. Lucia
BW 435 St. Lucia to Port of Spain
BW 412 Port of Spain to Barbados
BW 413 Barbados to Port of Spain
BW 459 Kingston to Antigua

CAL to send aircraft to St Maarten Saturday to deliver relief supplies, evacuate affected persons

Caribbean Airlines says it will send another aircraft to help in the relief efforts of those affected by Hurricane Irma.

CAL will send an aircraft to St Maarten on Saturday to evacuate CARICOM and T&T nationals and also to deliver relief supplies.

The airline issued the following statement on Friday.

"Caribbean Airlines extends our deepest concern and empathy to those affected by the hurricanes in the region.

CAL cancels 12 flights scheduled for Sunday
