Carnival 2020

London brothers among 16 finalists in NACC’s Young Kings competition

Reigning Young Kings champion, Ronaldo London, will duel against his younger brother, Rivaldo, and 15 other contenders to try to retain his title in this year's final.

The 2020 edition of the National Action Cultural Committee's Young Kings Calypso Monarch is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11 at the Grand Stand of the Queen's Park Savannah.

The London brothers swept victory in all three of Carnival's major calypso competitions last year. Ronaldo won the 2019 Calypso Monarch and Young Kings crowns, while Rivaldo took home the Junior Calypso Monarch title.

Feud brewing between NCC and Pan Trinbago

Pan Trinbago President Beverley Ramsey-Moore said she will not bow to Chairman of the National Carnival Commission, Winston ‘Gypsy’ Peters.

“I will not take any arrogance,” Peters said.

Their feud stemmed from different views on The North Park at Carnival City, which was developed under the NCC last year.

The NCC said the goal of North Park was to provide a more user-friendly area for patrons, as they said the North Stand was just not enough.
