Work continues on Maracas Beach facility

The Ministry of Tourism is advising the public that Phase 1 upgrade works are currently being carried out by NIDCO, on behalf of the Ministry of Works and Transport, at the Maracas Beach Facility.

It says that these works in progress include the transition to a new wastewater treatment plant located adjacent to the car park and the demolition of the old wastewater treatment plant located west of the Life Guard Building.

PM to meet with Joint Consultative Council

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley will meet with the Joint Consultative Council for the Construction Industry (JCC) at 10 am on Friday 13, April 2018 at the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), St Clair, a statement by OPM said.

The PM's office says this meeting follows the prime minister’s announcement earlier this year that he will chair a Ministerial Committee for the Construction Industry.

The committee will include the relevant government ministers and representatives from the various professional bodies which form the JCC.

Cabinet gives green light for new $500 million Tobago airport terminal

Finance Minister Clm Imbert has announced that the Cabinet has agreed to begin the construction of a new terminal building for the ANR Robinson Airport in Tobago, by the end of this year.

It's expected to cost $500 million, but the acquisition of property is not included in that figure.

He made the announcement at today's post-Cabinet media conference.

While the current terminal building is located at the start of the runway, the new terminal will be located at the end of the runway.
