A Maloney man will appear before an Arima Magistrate on Tuesday 6th June, 2017, for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Shaquille Charles, 21, was held during an anti-crime exercise, which took place in the Maloney District from of 12 pm on Saturday 3rd June, 2017 to 12 am on Sunday 4th June, 2017, a police statement said.
Acting on information received, officers of the Maloney Police Station arrested and charged Charles of Building 5, Maloney Gardens, for possession of one black Colt .45 pistol and seven rounds of .45 ammunition.
Car dealer Sheron Sukhdeo will spend the night in prison as he has been refused bail on a charge of breaching a protection order.
Sukhdeo, 28 of Caroni Savannah Road, Chaguanas appeared before magistrate Wendy Dougdeen-Bally today.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
His attorney Taradath Singh requested bail for Sukhdeo and the magistrate asked for his passport be produced.
He will return to court on Thursday at which time the court expects to receive his passport to allow the magistrate to make a decision.
Keron James, a labourer employed with the Ministry of Works, appeared before an Arima Magistrate today, charged with the murder of Arouca mini-mart owner, Lleron Alexander.

A Police Statement said that Lerevlis Stanley, was arrested by officers of the La Horquetta Police Station, for possession of the firearm, which was found during the execution of a search warrant at her home, around 9:15 pm on Friday 5th May, 2017.
A warrant has since been issued for the arrest of the woman’s 42- year-old son, who resides at the same address.

Dennil Ramsawak, aka ‘Jason’, 30, of Tin Pan Alley Road, Barrackpore, and his brother, Derrick Ramsawak, 20, of the same address, stood before Magistrate Margaret Alert, to answer the charge.
Bedassie’s, skeletal remains were retrieved from a latrine pit behind his home at Blackman Street, Reform, Gasparillo.
The victim is believed to have been killed sometime between Sunday 26th March and Tuesday 4th April, 2017.
