The Minister of National Security has issued a revised version of an earlier media statement in which the Minister thanked members of the defence and protective services for a "crime-free" Carnival.
The statement has received widespread criticism for the use of the words "crime-free", given that the statement itself it refers to the murder of a former soldier.

The Ministry of National Security issued a statement by the Minister, on Wednesday evening.
"Minister of National Security Major General (Ret'd) the Honourable Edmund Dillon wishes to thank members of the Defence and Protective Services for their efforts in making Carnival 2017 crime free.
