Two police officers, along with a Venezuelan national, have been detained in connection with trafficking in persons and other gang related activities.
The trio were arrested during an anti-crime exercise overnight in the Central Division.
The officers, who are assigned to Central Division Police and also live in the area, had their respective homes and lockers at the station searched.
The home of the Venezuelan national also was searched.
Police are on the scene of a murder in Embacadere, San Fernando.
According to reports, Marlon La Guerra, also known as Triple, was at his home along Circle Drive Extension around 8.30 am when a gunman entered his house.
He was shot several times.
The gunman ran off.
On hearing the loud explosions, residents in the area contacted the police who responded and discovered the man lying in a pool of blood.
La Guerra was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he died.

A 36-year-old Nigerian national is currently warded at hospital following a chopping incident this morning.
CNC3 NEWS understands that shortly after 7am, a man, who is yet to be identified, was accosted by another man in the vicinity of Busy Corner in Chaguanas.
According to eyewitnesses, an altercation ensued and the man was dealt several chops about the body.
The chopping incident happened in the full glare of members of the public, who scampered to safety.
The injured man was taken to hospital where he remains warded in a serious condition.
A father of two has allegedly beaten his eight year old autistic daughter to death before killing himself.
According to police reports, around 7 last evening, Michael Maynard was at his home in Kelly Village, Caroni, when he allegedly beat the girl, Makeisha, about her body with a cutlass.
It is believed that shortly after 10pm, Maynard realised the girl did not regain consciousness. He subsequently completed suicide.
The man's 11 year old son, Makesi, raised an alarm and alerted neighbours who contacted the police.
An early morning shootout with police has claimed the life of one man.
Preliminary reports indicate that police, acting on information, proceeded to a house along Hilltop Avenue, Claxton Bay, in search of a murder suspect.
On arrival at the location, the officers allegedly were greeted with gunfire.
The officers subsequently returned fire and the assailant was hit.
The man was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Two men were charged by officers of the Child Protection Unit (CPU) for three counts of sexual penetration of a child and four counts of sexual touching of a child following intelligence-led exercises, yesterday.

A man who was shot in Maloney on Wednesday morning has died.
The shooting incident occurred at about 6.30 am on Wednesday.
According to police reports, 43-year-old Hardy Abdul Mohammed was approached by a gunman and shot multiple times, moments after he left Building 20.
Mohammed was taken to the Arima District Hospital where he was treated and warded. He had been in a serious condition until he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.
Police said they are "very familiar" with Mohammed, who was also known as Shervon Ransom. He was said to be in his early 40s.

According to official police reports, at about 9:50pm on Wednesday 5th February, officers of the WDPSU were on mobile patrol along the Western Main Road, St. James, when they received information about a man having a firearm in his possession at the Bess West Supermarket, Mathura Street in St. James.
