Cro Cro out of Calypso Monarch race

Con­tro­ver­sial ca­lyp­son­ian Cro Cro (We­st­on Rawl­ins) has failed to make in­to the se­mi-fi­nals of this year’s Ca­lyp­so Monarch com­pe­ti­tion.

The four-time monarch was no­tably miss­ing from the list of 40-semi­fi­nal­ists re­leased yes­ter­day the Trin­ba­go Uni­fied Ca­lyp­so­ni­ans’ Or­gan­i­sa­tion (TU­CO) who will com­pete in Ca­lyp­so Fi­es­ta at Skin­ner Park, San Fer­nan­do, next Sat­ur­day.

Cro Cro releases song about viral video

Four-time Calypso Monarch, Cro Cro has made good on his promise to a release a song about an incident where he was recorded reportedly using obscene language towards a driver.
Two weeks ago, a video emerged of the veteran calypsonian, real name Weston Rawlins, arguing with another motorist. It was claimed that he was caught using his cell phone while driving. CEPEP, where Rawlins works as a Regional Coordinator suspended him and revoked the use of their company van, pending the outcome of an investigation.

CEPEP commences probe against Cro Cro

An in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to the con­duct of CEPEP re­gion­al co­or­di­na­tor We­st­on “Cro Cro” Rawl­ins is ex­pect­ed to be com­plet­ed this week and a de­ci­sion by man­age­ment will be for­ward­ed to the board of di­rec­tors for de­lib­er­a­tion.

In a me­dia con­fer­ence at CEPEP’s head of­fice in Ste Madeleine on Tues­day, chair­man Ash­ton Ford said that Rawl­ins re­mains on sus­pen­sion but con­tin­ues to col­lect his $10,000 month­ly salary.

Cepep suspends Cro Cro after offensive video

Ca­lyp­son­ian We­st­on Rawl­ins, bet­ter known as Cro Cro, has been sus­pend­ed from the State-run Com­mu­ni­ty-Based En­vi­ron­men­tal Pro­tec­tion and En­hance­ment Pro­gramme (Cepep) af­ter an ob­scene out­burst while dri­ving a com­pa­ny ve­hi­cle.

Rawl­ins served as the Cepep South­ern Re­gion­al Co­or­di­na­tor and was sus­pend­ed with im­me­di­ate ef­fect ear­li­er to­day af­ter a video was shared on so­cial me­dia of Rawl­ins dri­ving a Cepep pick-up and curs­ing an­oth­er dri­ver.
