Works Ministry warns of more traffic disruptions this weekend

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that there will be temporary traffic disruptions over the weekend as a result of scheduled roadworks.

Firstly, from 8 pm on Friday 6th December to 4 am on Monday 9th December, there will be a temporary closure of access to—and from—the Southern Main Road North (Curepe), at its intersection with the Churchill Roosevelt Highway (Curepe Interchange).

Traffic flow changes lead to chaos

The first full day of traf­fic changes im­ple­ment­ed for the con­struc­tion of the Curepe In­ter­change saw mas­sive traf­fic pile­ups along the South­ern Main Road.

Ve­hi­cles head­ing south along the main road were caught in bot­tle­necks from the Val­sayn in­ter­sec­tion short­ly be­fore noon.

Woman who gave birth on Curepe pavement killed in road accident

A woman who first made headlines for delivering a baby on the roadside in Curepe, has been killed in a vehicular accident.

It is being reported that the 36-year-old woman, identified as Crystal Dennis, was hit by a police vehicle overnight.

She was standing along the Priority Bus Route in the vicinity of the TML Primary School when she was knocked down.

It is also being reported that the vehicle was driven by an officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force.

On June 2nd 2015, Dennis was captured on video delivering her baby girl on the streets in Curepe.

Missing 14-year-old Curepe teen found

Dianna Boodram, the 14-year-old of Blackman Lane, Curepe, who was reported missing by her mother, Vicky Boodram, on Tuesday 14th March, 2017, has been found, a statement by the Police Service says.

The statement says the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service thanks the public for its assistance in ensuring the teenager’s safe return. 

The police gave no further information on the matter.

14-year-old Curepe girl missing

Police are seeking the urgent assistance of the public in locating 14-year-old Dianna Boodram.

Dianna, of Blackman Lane, Curepe, was last seen at Knowles Street recreation grounds, at around 6:15pm on Tuesday 14th March, 2017.

She was reported missing to the St. Joseph Police Station, by her mother, Vicky Boodram at around 9:10pm on the same day.

Dianna is of East Indian descent, 4 feet 9 inches tall, slim built and dark brown in complexion.

Police investigate murder in Curepe

Police are investigating the killing of a man on 25 Alice Street, Curepe on Wednesday night, in which the victim and an injured man were both found naked.

The incident occurred around 9.30 pm last night.

Police say they got word of an altercation.

When they arrived, they found two men lying naked among furniture that had been turned over.

Both men appeared to have multiple injuries across their bodies.

The men were taken to hospital where one man succumbed to his injuries.

Police are continuing investigations.
