As investigations continue into the police-involved shooting of Keone Paryag—fiance of Danah Alleyne—who is the sister of Crime Watch host Ian Alleyne, police investigators claim that they are not getting the expected 100 per cent cooperation from those questioned about what transpired on Friday.
However, police said Alleyne (Danah) told them that she was not held hostage by Paryag.
The National Trade Union Centre has joined the call for the resignation of the chairman of the Police Complaints Authority, David West.
NATUC has issued the following statement in that regard.
"The National Trade Union Centre (NATUC) adds it voice to the call for the immediate resignation of David West, Director of the Police Complaints Authority (PCA) following statements made by him earlier this month at the debate on anti-corruption at the home of the British High Commissioner.
Police Complaints Authority director David West yesterday chastised the police officer who issued a ticket to the husband of a then pregnant and in labour Arlene Laban-Ammon for using the Priority Bus Route and forced them off the route during an emergency.
He said while the PCA could not investigate the matter as “it is not one of serious police misconduct,” he said it could be seen as “an act of stupidity” on the officer’s part.
