Strategic approach taken to reduce HIV/AIDS in T&T

There are roughly 11,000 people recorded as being HIV positive and living with HIV/AIDS in this country.

And health ministry officials say more and more people are ensuring they know their status by getting tested for HIV.

COLFIRE denies discrimination allegations

Insurance company, COLFIRE, is denying allegations of discrimination against an employee because of the texture of his hair.

This follows a Facebook post that includes a letter from the company's human resource manager Rhonda Oblington-Joseph to a worker Maurice Ramirez, threatening Ramirez with disciplinary action for an apparent breach of the company's policy related to proper grooming.

Woman claims hiring discrimination over hijab

A woman's dream of working for a popular local accessories and cosmetics store came crashing down, after she claims she was turned away for wearing a hijab, even after being offered the job.

Njemile Alexander says she is heart-broken as she claims she only found out that she was being refused, after she had already turned up for the job for which she had qualified.
