Sweet revenge 28 years later; T&T knock US out of the World Cup Final

Twenty-eight years ago, on November 19th, 1989, Trinidad and Tobago's Strike Squad needed only a draw to qualify for the 1990 World Cup Final in Italy.

But in a heart-wrenching game at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, the United States won 1-0 to knock T&T out of the World Cup.

Tonight, Trinidad and Tobago's Soca Warriors have returned the favour.

In similar fashion, the United States came to Trinidad and Tobago needing only a draw to qualify for the World Cup in Russia next year.

TTFA concerned about state of Ato Boldon field following US team's training session

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) says the management of the Ato Boldon Stadium is now concerned about the state of the field following training by the US National Team this morning.

Photos and video published on the US Soccer's Twitter page showed high levels of water on the track as the team arrived to train this morning.

But the TTFA said the tweets failed to mention the torrential rainfall in the area.

The TTFA says it still believes that the match will go on at the venue.

The following is the TTFA's statement on the issue.
