Three men were arrested and one firearm, 18 rounds of ammunition and two magazines seized by officers of the Western Division Special Patrol Unit (WDSPU) during an intelligence-led exercise in the St. James District, yesterday.
According to official police reports, at about 9:50pm on Wednesday 5th February, officers of the WDPSU were on mobile patrol along the Western Main Road, St. James, when they received information about a man having a firearm in his possession at the Bess West Supermarket, Mathura Street in St. James.
One man has been arrested and two firearms and quantities of marijuana and ammunition seized by officers of the Port of Spain Division, over the weekend.
The arrests and seizures took place during an Operation Strike Back Two exercise, conducted in the Belmont and Cascade Districts on Saturday 21 December.
The exercise also included officers of the Port of Spain Division Task Force, Interagency Task Force, Belmont Operations Unit, Besson Street Operations Unit, Transit Police, Canine Unit and the Air Support Unit.
One man was arrested and a firearm and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Central Division Task Force during an anticrime exercise conducted in the Claxton Bay district, this week.
During the exercise, which was conducted between Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th December, several search warrants were executed and several drug blocks searched.
Police reports indicated that officers observed a vehicle parked along Diamond Road, Diamond Village, Claxton Bay, with a lone male occupant.
An Austria Glock pistol and a quantity of marijuana were found by officers during an anti-crime exercise in the Central Division yesterday a statement by the Police Service said.
The officers of the Central Special Crime and Canine Units, conducted the exercise coordinated by ASP (Ag.), Richard Smith, between 7:00am and 9:00pm on Wednesday 10th May, 2017.
The officers went to Mano Street, Enterprise, Chaguanas, around 7:30pm, where they conducted a search behind a shed situated along the roadway.
