Police seize revolver and ammunition

A revolver and a quantity of ammunition are discovered during an anti-crime exercise conducted by officers of the Cedros Police Station, in the district. 

According to police reports officers proceeded to Icacos Village around 8:30 pm on August 11th, and conducted a search of a bushy area. 

The search resulted in officers discovering one Smith and Wesson revolver and two rounds of ammunition in a black plastic bag hidden under a sheet of rusted galvanise. 

Investigations are continuing. 

Mac-10 sub-machine and ammo found in Las Lomas

A Sub-Machine Gun and Ammo has been Found in Las Lomas.
The discovery was made by officers of the Central Division Special Crime Unit, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Las Lomas district on Thursday. The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Inraj Balram, and ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith included officers of the Las Lomas Police Post and the Canine Unit and was conducted between 6:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Man in court after threatening police with fake gun

A Claxton Bay man, charged with three counts of common assault and possession of an imitation firearm, has appeared before a San Fernando Magistrate to answer to the charges.

Rocky Mehelan, 27, of Soledad Road, Claxton Bay, was granted $20,000 own bail when he appeared before Magistrate Natalie Diop in the San Fernando 2nd Magistrates’ Court, on Friday 20th July, 2018.

Trincity man charged with gun, ammunition possession

A Trincity man, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate today.

Rondell Adams, 25, of Castleton Avenue, Trincity, was arrested during an anti-crime exercise, conducted by officers of the Arima Crime Patrol Unit and Arima Criminal Investigations Department (CID), in the Arima district on Tuesday 17th July, 2018.

The exercise took place between 4 pm and 7 pm and was led by Insp. Nigel Birch, of the Arima CID.

Police find loaded Glock pistol in Morvant

A loaded pistol was found by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the Morvant district.

The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Surrendra Sagramsingh, took place between 12:00pm and 10:00pm on Sunday 15th July, 2018.

Around 6:50pm, officers proceeded to an empty parcel of land, located at the corner of Halls Lane and Pelican Extension Road, Morvant, where a search was conducted.

Man arrested with gun, ammunition in high-speed Tobago chase

One man has been arrested; and two pistols and quantities of ammunition and marijuana seized, by officers of the Tobago Division, following a high-speed chase in the Old Grange district.

Officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force, were conducting an anti-crime exercise in the Mt. Pleasant area, around 2:40 pm on Sunday 15th July, 2018, when they attempted to stop and search a white Nissan Tiida motor vehicle with two male occupants.

The vehicle sped off and a chase ensued, resulting in the Tiida colliding into the rear of a truck.

Maraval man in court on gun and ammunition charges

A Maraval man, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, is scheduled to appear before the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 11th July, 2018, to answer the charges.

Cleon Ronain, 33, of Beau Près Road, Maraval, was arrested by officers of the Maracas Bay Police Station, during a stop and search exercise in the Maracas Bay district on Monday 9th July, 2018.

The exercise, which was led by Sgt. Stephen Dowridge, of the Maracas Bay Police Station, took place between 3:15pm and 5:00pm and also included officers of the Coastal Patrol Unit.

Piarco couple pleads guilty to gun, ammunition charges

A Piarco couple has pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of firearm and ammunition, after appearing before an Arima Magistrate today.

Daniel Jobe, 23, and Samantha Ramesar, 19, both of North Bank Road, Piarco, appeared before Senior Magistrate Gillian Scotland, in the Arima Magistrate’s 1st Court, on Monday 25th June, 2018, to answer to the charge.

The matter was adjourned to Monday 2nd July, 2018.

Woman charged with stealing gun from casino security guard

A 32-year-old Sangre Grande woman has been arrested for stealing a gun and ammunition from a security officer at a casino.

The incident is said to have taken place at a gambling establishment in the Sangre Grande area after midnight. 

The officer reported to police that he was on duty at the casino, armed with the weapon, when he went to the washroom and placed it on the toilet tank.

Minutes after leaving the washroom, he realised he had left the gun behind and returned to retrieve it, but did not find it.

'Hot Dog' from Trincity charged with gun, ammunition possession

A Trincity man is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate on Monday 18th June, 2018, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Jamal Walcott, aka ‘Hot Dog’, a 23-year-old of West Dinsley Gardens, Trincity, was arrested by officers of the Northern Division Task Force Area Central, during an anti-crime exercise in the Arouca district on Tuesday 13th June, 2018.

The exercise took place between 12:00pm and 6:00pm, and was supervised by ASP (Ag.) Mervin Edwards and Sgt. Ishmael Pitt.
