Belmont police have seized a Glock pistol and eight rounds of ammunition in a police exercise.
According to reports, officers of the Belmont Crime Patrol Unit including Cpl Parris, PC Dyer, PC Burke and PC John, conducted an operation in the Gonzales area where there have been numerous shootings recently.
The officers found a silver and black Glock pistol with eight rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The operation was supervised by Sgt Walker of the Belmont Police Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
Six persons including four teenaged sisters are arrested and a gun and quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the Maloney district, on Tuesday.
The exercise, spearheaded by ACP (Ag.) McDonald Jacob and supervised by Sgt. Ishmael Pitt, was conducted, between 8 pm on Tuesday and 1 am on Wednesday.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to an apartment in Maloney Gardens, where they executed a search, which resulted in one Smith and Wesson revolver loaded with four rounds of .38 ammunition being seized.
A revolver and a quantity of ammunition were discovered by officers of the Penal Police Station during an anti-crime exercise, in the Cedros district, yesterday.
Police said in a statement that officers conducted the exercise around 2:30 pm on Monday 9th April, 2018, during which, based on information, they proceeded to an open area at Constance Estate, Icacos Village, where they found one Smith and Wesson revolver and five rounds of .38mm special ammunition, wrapped in a green jersey, hidden under some coconut branches.
No one was arrested in connection with the find.
Three men were arrested and a shotgun and quantities of ammunition and marijuana seized by officers of the Northern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise, conducted in the Arima district early this morning.
The exercise, coordinated by ACP (Ag.), McDonald Jacob, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.), Michael Daniel and including officers of the St. Joseph CID, was conducted between 12:01 am and 3 am, on Thursday 5th April, 2018.
Officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force discovered a revolver during an anti-crime exercise, which was conducted in the Barataria district, yesterday.
The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Surrendra Sagramsingh and including Sgt. (Ag.) Simeon Guelmo, was conducted between 10:30 am and 6 pm on Sunday, during which the officers proceeded to 7th Avenue, Malick.
There, they conducted a search of a bushy area, which resulted in one Cobra revolver, being discovered hidden under a sheet of galvanise.
No arrest was made in connection with the find.
A shotgun and one cartridge were discovered by officers of the South Western Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the Erin district, yesterday.
The exercise, supervised by Sgt. Sheldon Ablacksingh, was conducted around 5 pm, on Sunday, during which they proceeded to Arena Village, where they conducted a search of a bushy area.
The search resulted in the shotgun and one 12 gauge cartridge being discovered hidden under a large concrete slab.
No arrest was made in connection with the find.
A 29 year-old-man has been arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Police say the man was held after a chase at the St Paul Street, Clifton Towers Bldg 3, around 10:30 am.
Police say a Jericho 941 pistol and 13 rounds of 9 mm ammo were seized from the man.
The firearm, according to police, was found in the suspect’s trouser by members of the Inter-Agency Task Force Strike Team.
An Arima man was arrested yesterday after a quantity of ammunition and a pistol was found in the vehicle he was driving.
Police officers attached to the Arima CID noticed a Toyota Axio break a red light along the Demerara Road, Wallerfield.
