18-year-old female among five held for gun possession

Five persons, including a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were arrested and a pistol, a revolver and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division Task Force, Area East, during an anti-crime exercise in the Arima district yesterday.

Officers were on mobile patrol, around 10:40 am, on Sunday, when they observed a black Nissan Almera with five occupants proceeding along Guerra Road, Calvary Hill, Arima.

Upon seeing the officers, the occupants of the vehicle started acting suspiciously.

Police find another AK-47, this time in Enterprise

An AK-47 assault rifle and a quantity of ammunition were discovered by officers of the Central Division during an anti-crime exercise in the Enterprise district yesterday, police said in a statement issued Friday.

It is the second such weapon seized by police in the past week.

Two arrested in Chaguanas after gun found in car

Two men were arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition were seized by officers of the Central Division during an anti-crime exercise in the Chaguanas district yesterday, police said in a statement.

The exercise, supervised by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Inraj Balram and ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith, was conducted between 11 am and 9 pm, on Wednesday 31st January, 2018.

During the exercise, the officers had cause to stop and search a brown coloured Mazda B2500 motor vehicle with two male occupants, in the vicinity of Woodford Lodge Savannah, Chaguanas, around 8:30 pm.

Pistol, ammunition found in Penal apartment

A pistol and a quantity of ammunition were found hidden in an apartment in Penal by officers of the South Western Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the district over the weekend.

The exercise, supervised by Sgt. Terrence Victor, was conducted around 7:45 pm, on Saturday 27th January, 2018, during which officers proceeded to an apartment building at Fazal Avenue, Penal.

Upon arrival, the officers observed several persons fleeing from the premises.

Revolver found wrapped in bandana

A revolver and a quantity of ammunition were discovered by officers of the Sangre Grande CID, during an anti-crime exercise in the district yesterday, police said in a statement.

The exercise, coordinated by Insp. Ken Lutchman, supervised by W/Sgt. Alana Lopez-Carr, and including officers of the Eastern Division Task Force, was conducted between 6 am and 10 am, on Wednesday 24th January, 2018.

Acting on information, officers proceeded to Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande, where they conducted a search of a bushy area.

Revolver, shotgun found hidden in Sam Boucaud, Santa Cruz

A revolver and a shotgun were discovered by officers of the Santa Cruz Police Station during an anti-crime exercise in the district yesterday, police said in a media statement.

The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Surrendra Sagramsingh, supervised by ASP (Ag.) Michael Sooker, and including officers of the Coastal Patrol Unit and Santa Cruz Charge Room, was conducted between 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm on Monday.

Charlieville man held with pistol and ammunition

One man was arrested and a pistol discovered, by officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad, during an exercise in the Northern Division over the weekend.

Officers were on patrol at Trincity Mall, Trincity, around 4:30pm, on Friday 19th January, 2018, when they observed a brown Nissan Navara bearing a false number plate, being driven by a 35-year-old man of Savannah Heights, Charlieville.

The man was arrested and the vehicle seized.

Three guns found hidden in toilet tank of interior decorator's home

One woman was arrested and three revolvers seized by officers of the Southern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the San Fernando district, which took place overnight into this morning.

Officers conducted the exercise, coordinated by Sgt. Vishal Parasram and supervised by Cpl. Dinton Dinoo, between 9 pm on Thursday and 2 am on Friday, during which they executed a search warrant at the Hermitage Village home of a 27-year-old interior decorator.

32-year-old man arrested with Taurus revolver

A Laventille man was arrested and a revolver and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Cumuto Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise in the district, last night.

The exercise, supervised by Cpl.Shawn Gordon, was conducted between 8 pm and 11:30 pm on Thursday, during which officers had cause to stop a white Nissan B-15 motor vehicle, with a lone occupant.

A search of the vehicle resulted in one Taurus revolver and six rounds of .38mm ammunition being discovered.
