Tobago man among two held for possession of arms, ammunition

Two men were arrested and a revolver and one round of ammunition seized during an anti-crime exercise by officers of Point Fortin Police Station over the weekend.

Officers conducted the exercise around 11 am on Saturday, during which they proceeded to Pundit Street, Capde-Ville, where they observed three men seated on the steps of a dilapidated house.

Upon seeing the officers, the men ran off.

However, two of the suspects were subsequently held.

Teen charged as gun, ammunition are found in Pleasantville apartment

An 18-year-old man was arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition seized during an anti-crime exercise by officers of the Mon Repos Police Station on Friday.

The exercise was carried out between 10 pm and 4 pm in the Pleasantville district and included officers of the Southern Division Task Force and Rapid Response Unit.

Acting on information received, the officers went to Apartment #2, Building D, Orchid Gardens, where they carried out a search, which resulted in one Beretta pistol along with 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition, being discovered.

17-year-old held with pistol, ammunition

A 17-year-old was arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division Area Central Task Force during an anti-crime exercise on Friday, a police statement said.

The exercise, conducted between 6 pm and 12 midnight in the Oropune district, was coordinated by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ag.), McDonald Jacob and spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Michael Daniel.

Acting on information, officers proceeded to Apartment #2, Oropune Circular, Oropune, where a search warrant was executed.

One arrested as police seize Glock pistol, ammunition in Matura

One man was arrested and another later surrendered himself to police following an anti-crime exercise in the Matura district yesterday, during which two pistols and a quantity of ammunition were also seized by officers of the Sangre Grande Task Force and CID.

Officers under the supervision of Inspector Ken Lutchman and W/Sgt Alana Lopez-Carr, conducted the exercise around 9:20 am on Wednesday 10th January, 2018, during which they went to a quarry at Saunders Trace, Matura.

There they had cause to search six men who were on the compound at the time of the exercise.

La Brea men held with Glock pistol & ammunition

Two La Brea men were arrested and a Glock pistol and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Oropouche Police Station during an anti-crime exercise, in Rousillac, yesterday.

Officers were on mobile patrol along the Southern Main Road, Aripero Village, around 11:15 pm, on Tuesday 2nd January, 2018, when they observed a gold coloured Mazda 323 motor vehicle with two occupants parked along the roadway.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the pistol and nine rounds of 9mm ammunition being discovered hidden under the driver’s seat.

Police find shotgun, camouflage clothing in Moruga

Police have discovered a shotgun, a cartridge and camouflage clothing during an anti-crime exercise in Moruga over the weekend.

Officers of the Moruga Police Station conducted the exercise between 6 am and 1 pm, on Sunday 31st, December, 2017, during which they proceeded to Edward Trace, Moruga, where they discovered a camp, approximately four miles into a forested area.

A search of the camp resulted in one 12-gauge shotgun, containing one 12-gauge cartridge and the camouflage clothing discovered hidden inside a latrine.

Valencia man held with revolver & ammo

A Valencia man was arrested and a revolver and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division during an anti-crime exercise in the Arima district yesterday.

Officers conducted the exercise around 8:10 am on Thursday 21st December, 2017, during which they proceeded to Prince Street, Arima, where they observed a man with a knapsack on his back, standing along the roadway.

The officers approached the man and conducted a search of the knapsack, which resulted in one revolver and five rounds of ammunition being found inside.

Curepe man held with Kel Tec pistol

One man was arrested and a revolver and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division, during an anti-crime exercise in the Curepe district yesterday.

Officers were on mobile patrol around 6 pm on Thursday 21st December, 2017 along Bellesmythe Street, Curepe, when they observed a man standing along the roadway.

Upon seeing the officers, the man ran off but was held a short distance away.

A search was conducted and one Kel Tec pistol, along with five rounds of .38mm ammunition, were found in his possession.

Man arrested with Mac 10 sub-machine gun after allegedly shooting-up house

Quick work by police resulted in the arrest of a suspect who this morning allegedly fired several shots at the home of his stepfather, at Bois Bande Village, Sangre Grande.

Police say in a statement that officers under the supervision of Insp. Ken Lutchman of the Sangre Grande Task Force and Crime Patrol Unit, seized a machinegun and a quantity of ammunition from the suspect.

Police were informed by a 50-year-old man of Bois Bande Village, that his 23-year-old step-son came to his home armed with a gun and fired several shots at the house, around 9:30am.
