Two San Fernando men were arrested and a pistol seized, by officers of the Valencia Police Post, during an anti-crime exercise yesterday.
Officers conducted the exercise between 1:45pm and 3:30pm, on Thursday 5th October, 2017, along the Eastern Main Road, Valencia, during which they had cause to stop a vehicle with two male occupants.
A search of the vehicle resulted in one Astra pistol, outfitted with a magazine containing 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition being found.
Three brothers have been arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition seized, by officers of the Four Roads Police Station.
The exercise, which included officers of the Maraval CID, Western Division Task Force and Canine Unit, was conducted between 2:00am and 6:00am, on Thursday 5th October, 2017, during which they executed a search warrant at the Simeon Road, Petit Valley, home of a 21-year-old man.
The search resulted in a Springfield pistol and 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition being found on the floor of a bedroom in the house.
A Beretta pistol and a quantity of ammunition were seized by officers of the Central Division Operation Unit, during an anti-crime exercise, in the Enterprise, Chaguanas yesterday.
A police statement said that officers conducted the exercise between 2 pm and 8 pm on Sunday 10th September, 2017, during which they observed a man standing in a basketball court, along Postman Drive, Enterprise, with an object resembling a firearm in his possession.
Upon seeing the officers, the man dropped the object and ran off.
A Maloney man will appear before an Arima Magistrate on Tuesday 6th June, 2017, for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Shaquille Charles, 21, was held during an anti-crime exercise, which took place in the Maloney District from of 12 pm on Saturday 3rd June, 2017 to 12 am on Sunday 4th June, 2017, a police statement said.
Acting on information received, officers of the Maloney Police Station arrested and charged Charles of Building 5, Maloney Gardens, for possession of one black Colt .45 pistol and seven rounds of .45 ammunition.
Two men are due to appear in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court, charged with narcotics possession, after being arrested during anti-crime exercises in the Western Division over the weekend.
One pistol and magazine were also found during the exercises, which were conducted by officers of the Western Division Task Force, between 11 am on Saturday 20th May, 2017 and 1 am on Sunday 21st May, 2017.
A 32-year-old Diego Martin man will appear in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court, charged with possession of a Smith and Wesson pistol and magazine, loaded with five rounds of .9mm ammunition.
Sean Khan, of Julien Park, Diego Martin, was held by officers of the Western Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise around 4:30 am on Thursday 18th May, 2017.
The firearm and ammunition were found hidden under the driver’s seat of a B-13 motor vehicle which was parked at the home of the accused, at the time of the exercise.
A 72-year-old woman of Phase 2, La Horquetta, will appear in the Arima Magistrates’ Court today, charged with possession of a Ruger .9mm pistol.
A Police Statement said that Lerevlis Stanley, was arrested by officers of the La Horquetta Police Station, for possession of the firearm, which was found during the execution of a search warrant at her home, around 9:15 pm on Friday 5th May, 2017.
A warrant has since been issued for the arrest of the woman’s 42- year-old son, who resides at the same address.
Two Vistabella men are expected to appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate, charged with possession of firearms and ammunition, following an anti-crime exercise in the Southern Division.
Officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force, acting on information received, conducted the exercise on Monday 24th April, 2017, at Olera Heights Drive, Vistabella.
There, they searched a Hyundai Accent vehicle and arrested and charged the driver, Nazir Mohammed, 32, of Jarvis Street, Vistabella, for being in possession of one Maverick shotgun.
Police have arrested and charged two men for narcotics, weapon possession and ammunition offences after they ran a stop light.
Around 3 am on Friday 21st April, 2017, whilst on mobile patrol, officers attached to the Penal Police Station under Cpls Andrews and Ramlal, observed a silver Nissan Tiida breaching a traffic light along the S.S Erin Road, Penal.
The officers caused the vehicle to come to a stop and observed the two male occupants behaving suspiciously.
