Minister of National Security, Edmund Dillon has praised the late social activist Hal Greaves for the work he did to improve the quality of lives in at-risk communities.
Greaves passed away on Saturday.
The Ministry of National Security issued this statement in tribute to him.
"On behalf of the Ministry of National Security, Minister of National Security Major General (Ret’d) the Honourable Edmund Dillon is today conveying heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Hal greaves on his passing last week Friday.
Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar says the passings of Hal Greaves and Shirley "Beulah" King, have left this country poorer artistically.
Persad-Bissessar issued this statement with regard to the passing of the outstanding citizens.
"I join the rest of Trinidad and Tobago in mourning the passing of talented performing artistes Hal Greaves and Shirley “Beulah” King.
The deaths of Mr. Greaves and Ms. King have robbed our country of two of its finest artistic practitioners, who also lent their considerable ingenuity to important social causes.
