T&T put on Malaria alert

The acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Vishwanath Partapsingh is putting Trinidad and Tobago on alert for Malaria.

During a press conference hosted by the Health Ministry today, Dr Partapsingh said there have been a number of reported cases for 2018.

13 public health officials trained for quicker Zika detection

Thirteen public health officials have been recently trained in techniques to detect the Zika virus and other mosquito-borne diseases.

The training was done by the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA).

Hospital needs help finding patient's next of kin

The North West Regional Health Authority is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the relatives or next of kin of a patient who initially identified himself as Tony Joseph.

He was brought into the Accident & Emergency department on the 26th of March, 2018 via ambulance and is currently warded at the Intensive Care Unit of the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.

He is:

· 54 years old (Born on 19th September, 1963)

· African Descent

· 6ft in height

· Slim built

· Dark brown complexion

· Approximately 143 lbs
