Car stealing ring breakthrough as 3 arrested

A Chinese national was among three persons detained in connection with a mall, car-stealing ring.

Police said they believe that the arrests come as a major breakthrough in their investigations into vehicles being stolen from several car parks at various malls in North Trinidad.

According to a police report, at about 1 pm on Wednesday, police officers received intelligence about a stolen vehicle being housed at the Lady Young Road, Morvant.

Another man dies in a police-involved shooting

A robbery suspect was shot by police during a high-speed chase along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway on Tuesday morning.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mount Hope.

Police allegedly recovered a firearm from the vehicle he was in.

Woodbrook attacks, assaults, robberies on the increase

Over the past five years there have been over 100 attacks against residents of Woodbrook.

The latest attacks were a home invasion where an 85-year-old woman was brutally beaten along with her amputee son, a robbery and an attempted rape.

Brother, sister shot by same bullet during home invasion

Re­ports stat­ed that Ani­cia, 28, a fash­ion de­sign­er and Amiel, 27, were re­cov­er­ing at their La Ro­maine home af­ter be­ing treat­ed for gun­shot wounds on their shoul­ders at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

Three in court for home invasion

Three men appeared in court yesterday charged with a violent home invasion in Sangre Grande.

Keron Seales, of Oasis Gardens, Chaguanas, Keston De Frietas, of Curepe, and Darren Juteram, of Coalmine, a relative of the victims, were jointly charged with three offences of robbery with aggravation.

They were each granted bail in the sum of $75,000 bail by Senior Magistrate Debra Quintyne, presiding in the Sangre Grande First Magistrate Court.

The trio was charged with the offences by PC Delpino of Sangre Grande CID.
