Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley has met with top executives from BP in Houston, in the first of a series of meetings with industry leaders in the energy sector.
Minister in the Office of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Stuart Young accompanied the Prime Minister, a statement by the Office of the Prime Minister says.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley leaves the country on Wednesday to visit Houston, Texas.
The Office of the Prime Minister says that while there he will host several rounds of energy talks with leading companies in the industry.
Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young will also make the trip.
The visit will include meetings with four energy companies – BP, Shell, Exxon Mobil and EOG Resources.
The trip is expected to end on Friday.
Finance Minister Colm Imbert will act as prime minister.
Several people were shot in a shopping center in southwest Houston Monday morning, police said.
The suspected gunman has been shot by officers, police said in a tweet. It's not clear if the person is alive.
Dozens of police vehicles and ambulances could be seen responding to the "active shooter situation" at the strip mall.
Houston Fire Department spokesman Jay Evans said more than 15 EMS crews were dispatched about 6:30 a.m. to reports of shooting at a Petco store.
