Investigation launched into suicide at San Fernando General Hospital

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances which led to a patient committing suicide at the San Fernando General Hospital.

On Monday, a 25-year-old man was found hanging in a room at the Psychiatric Ward mere hours after being admitted.

According to a release issued by the South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA), a team has been established to look into the matter.

The release added that counseling has been offered and will be provided as required.

The San Fernando police who will conduct an independent investigation into the incident.

Police launch probe into 'drug' video

A man, who identified himself as the police officer who was featured in a secretly-recorded video allegedly accepting a $100 bribe for the sale of marijuana, is claiming that he thought he was being asked about the sale of seeds.

But the Police Service took a dim view of the video and immediately launched an investigation into the matter.

Contacted yesterday for a comment, head of the TTPS’ corporate communications, Ellen Lewis said that Professional Standards Bureau “is now investigating the contents of a video, in circulation on social media, involving a police officer.”

PCA: Police Professional Standards Bureau to investigate 'police' voice note on Howard Chin Lee's wife

The Police Complaints Authority (PCA) says it is aware of reports of an alleged voice note being circulated via social media, allegedly emanating from an Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).

The PCA has been informed that the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB) has been charged with the responsibility of investigating this matter which also falls within the remit of the PCA.
