The Ministry of Health says it will conduct a separate investigation from the one being done by the North West Regional health Authority (NWRHA) on the death of Christopher Phillip on the grounds of the hospital.
The Ministry says its investigation will inform any critical changes that are required immediately.

"The Ministry of Health expresses its deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Christopher Phillip.
The Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government has ordered an investigation into allegations of misconduct and misuse of funds at the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation.
The Ministry has issued a statement saying it takes all allegations seriously and has asked the chairman of the corporation, Terry Rondon to take swift internal action to investigate the claims.

Police in Harris County, Texas have launched an internal affairs investigation into whether deputies violated any policies during an incident -- caught on camera -- in which a woman in a wheelchair was shocked with a taser.
Sheketha Holman says she has consistently used a wheelchair ever since a lower back injury two years ago.
Last Wednesday, she confronted deputies from the Harris County Sheriff's Office during her daughter's arrest at a gas station.
The Police Complaints Authority (PCA) has launched an independent investigation into the action of a police officer involved in the wrecking of a vehicle, that resulted in the driver riding along on the bonnet of his car.
The PCA is calling on the driver to come into the PCA's Head Office to offer his side of the story.
