Additional sailings of JDLV for Great Race
The Management of the T&T Inter-island Transportation Company Limited (TTIT) is advising the travelling public that due to increased demand for travel during the Great Race 2019 period, there will be additional sailings of the Jean De La Valette (JDLV) on August 16 and August 20, 2019.
A statement yesterday said due to the additional sailings of the JDLV the following sailing times are amended as follows:
Jean de la Valette completes inaugural sailing
The Jean de la Valette has completed its inaugural sailing between Scarborough and Port of Spain on Thursday morning.
The vessel, carrying over 700 passengers and 130 vehicles, took about three hours to arrive at the Port of Port of Spain.
On-site to oversee the operations was Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan, who has so far reported that it was a smooth sailing.
Many said the trip was smooth and exceeded expectations, however, some were dissatisfied with the disembarking arrangements.

New ferry once outran pirates
This country’s latest fast ferry, the HSC Jean de la Valette, once outran some pirate ships, a description from the Ship Technology website has claimed.
And citizens of T&T were on Wednesday given a glimpse of the vessels speed after it completed its journey from Cadiz, Spain five days ahead of the scheduled arrival time.
But the Jean de la Valette’s speed was not the main feature that had people on social media in awe yesterday.
