Early autopsy done: Schoolboy died of blunt force trauma to head

An autopsy has been performed on the body of schoolboy Jesse Beephan and has found that he died of blunt force trauma to the head.

The confirmation came from the police via a tweet on it's Twitter account.

It said: "Post-mortem performed on the body of schoolboy JESSE BEEPHAN show death caused by blunt force trauma to the head.He went missing Monday."

This could suggest that he was either hit on his head with an object or that he fell and hit his head.

The police tweet gave no further details.

However, police later issued a statement saying:

Post-mortem Thursday to determine how schoolboy was killed

A post-mortem is to be done on Thursday to determine how 16-year-old schoolboy Jesse Beephan died.

His body was discovered in a drain in a bushy area behind the Waterloo Secondary School Wednesday morning.

He was a student of the school.

A statement by the police said the body bore marks of violence.

It was viewed by the District Medical Officer, before being taken to the Forensic Sciences Centre where a post-mortem is expected to be performed tomorrow.
