Malabar woman shot

A 27-year-old woman is lucky to be alive today after being shot a reported nine times in Malabar.

Police reports indicate that around 11:30 last evening residents of La Croix Road heard several loud explosions.

On checking they discovered the body of Tashay Melville slumped behind the steering wheel of a car.

The police were subsequently contacted.

The woman was taken to hospital where she is being treated.

Reports say the woman, who is a hairdresser, had gone to the area to pick up a friend, when the gun attack occurred.

Malabar man reported missing

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is seeking the urgent assistance of the public in locating 29-year-old Matthew Maryuen. 

Matthew was last seen at his Harrynanan Avenue, Malabar home, around 2:30pm, on Wednesday 10th October, 2018. 

He was reported missing to the Malabar Police Station, around 9:10pm, on Thursday 11th October, 2018, by his brother. 

Matthew is of mixed descent, 5 feet tall, medium built, with a brown complexion, short black hair and has a speech impediment.

Murder in Malabar

A man has been shot and killed in Malabar.

Reports indicate that around 8pm on Monday, residents of Joseph Avenue reported hearing several loud explosions.

The police were contacted and upon arrival discovered the body of a man lying in a pool of blood outside his home.

He was taken to the Arima Health Facility where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Gary Constantine.

A motive for the murder is yet to be established.

 

PM 'at pain' over Malabar murders - "It makes us wonder what we've become"

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says he is "at pain" over the brutal murder of 13-year-old Videsh Subagh and his guardian Hafeeza Mohammed in Malabar on Wednesday.

"It makes us wonder what we’ve become," the prime minister said, as he addressed today's post-Cabinet news conference.

The prime minister says he knows that when there are heinous crimes like this, there is a demand by the population for the government to act, a demand he says is "understandable".

Malabar mother of three missing

Police are seeking the urgent assistance of the public in locating 36-year-old Kizzia Luann Charles of Malabar.

Charles, of Daniel Trace, Malabar, Arima, was last seen leaving her home around 7:30pm on Sunday 19th March, 2017.

She was reported missing to the Malabar Police Station, on Monday 20th March, 2017, by her sister, Makeba Hernandez.

Kizzia is of African descent, 5 feet 3 inches tall, medium built and brown in complexion.

Missing 14-year-old Malabar student found

Tasha Sandsand, the 14-year-old pupil of Malabar Secondary School, who was reported missing by her grandmother, Trina Vialva, on Wednesday 8th March, 2017, has been found, a statement by the Police Service says.

The statement says members of the Child Protection Unit are continuing investigations and that the Police Service thanks the public for its assistance in ensuring the teenager’s safe return.

The statement contains no further information.

14-year-old Malabar teen girl missing

Police are seeking the urgent assistance of the public in locating 14-year-old Nayasha Joseph.

Nayasha, of Tamazine Avenue, Malabar, was last seen in the vicinity of the Arima Magistrates’ Court, Arima, on Thursday 23rd, February, 2017. 

She was reported missing to the Malabar Police Station, by her mother, Simone Julien, on Monday 6th March, 2017.

Nayasha is of mixed descent, 5 feet 6 inches tall, slim built and brown in complexion.

She was last seen wearing a pair of blue jeans, a purple and white t-shirt and gold coloured shoes.

One man shot dead, another wounded in Malabar

Police are investigating a shooting incident in Malabar, Arima, in which two men were shot.

Initial reports indicate that a 34-year-old man was killed and another wounded.

The shooting occurred on Subero Street, Malabar, around 10:50 Tuesday morning.

The wounded man has been rushed to hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
