A 25-year-old Princes Town man, is expected to appear before a Princes Town Magistrate today, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, following a marijuana eradication exercise in Moruga.
Officers of the San Fernando Task Force and Organised Crime Narcotics and Firearms Bureau, conducted the exercise between 7:00am and 3:00pm on Tuesday 25th April, 2017, at Saunders Trace, Moruga.
There, officers discovered and destroyed two thousand fully grown marijuana trees and 500 seedlings, on approximately five lots of land.
An eradication exercise in the Freeport district has resulted in over one thousand fully grown marijuana trees, with an estimated street value of $50,000, being destroyed.
Police say officers of the Freeport Police Station, acting on information received, conducted the exercise between 10 am and 12 noon on Saturday 22nd April, 2017, in the vicinity of Roopsingh Road, Freeport.
No arrests were made in connection with the find.
Two guns and quantities of cocaine and marijuana, worth over $100,000 in total, have been seized in San Fernando, police said in a statement today.

Nearly half a million dollars worth of marijuana has been seized by the Coast Guard.
