Police destroy marijuana trees worth TT$1,800,000 in Biche forest

Almost two million dollars’ worth in marijuana trees discovered in a camp in the Biche area has been destroyed by officers of the Eastern Division. 

The exercise which was supervised by Sgt. (Ag.) Mahabir took place on December 5th also included officers attached to the Eastern Division Task Force Area Central and South.

According to police reports,  during the exercise, officers proceeded into a forested area along Kowlessar Trace, Biche, where they discovered a camp containing 1800 fully grown marijuana trees. 

Tobago police destroy 300 marijuana trees

Tobago Division police officers have destroyed almost 300 marijuana trees.

Police say officers went to the Canaan district during an anti-crime exercise on Friday and proceeded to a bushy area.

There they found 253 fully grown marijuana trees, which were destroyed.

No arrests were made and officers have not given a value for the illegal find.

Police destroy over $2 million in weed

Police have destroyed marijuana trees and cured marijuana with an estimated street value of $2.1 million.

The weed was destroyed in an exercise by officers of the Southern Division Task Force and Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit conducted in the Moruga district yesterday.

Officers went to a forested area at Marac Village, Moruga where they discovered five marijuana fields with 1,900 fully grown marijuana trees and a camp with 50 pounds of cured marijuana.

The drug has a total street value of $2,126,000.

Investigations are ongoing.

Two in court for marijuana trafficking

Two persons are expected to appear before the Siparia Magistrates’ Court today, after being arrested and charged for possession of 1.495 kilogrammes of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, during an anti-crime exercise in the South Oropouche district.

Officers of the South Western Division Task Force (SWDTF), led by Cpls. George and Singh, conducted the exercise on Tuesday.

During the exercise, the officers carried out a search of a silver Nissan Note motor vehicle, which was parked along the Southern Main Road, South Oropouche, with two occupants.

Police destroy over $2 million in marijuana

Police have destroyed marijuana trees and cured marijuana worth over $2 million in Moruga.

The exercise was carried out by officers of the Southern Division Task Force and the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit yesterday.

It was coordinated by Snr. Supt. Zamsheed Mohammed and ASP (Ag.) Peter Ramdeen, between 6 am and 5 pm.

During the exercise, officers proceeded to a forested area in La Lune Village, Moruga, where they came across 1,500 fully grown marijuana trees, 130 pounds of cured marijuana and 1,000 seedlings, along with three makeshift camps.

15 packets of marijuana found in Cedros

A quantity of marijuana was discovered by officers of the Central Division Task Force and Central Division Major Crime Unit in the Cedros district during an anti-crime exercise yesterday.

Officers under the supervision of Snr. Supt. Inraj Balram and ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith, conducted the exercise between 11 am and 5 pm, on Thursday 18th October, 2018, during which they proceeded to Bamboo Village, Cedros.

Over $100,000 in drugs seized in Palo Seco

A quantity of marijuana was seized by officers of the South Western Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Palo Seco district.

The exercise, coordinated by Snr. Supt. Neville Adams and Supt. Deonarine Basdeo, was conducted between 2 am and 4 pm on Wednesday. 

During the exercise, officers were patrolling an area off Beach Road, Palo Seco, when they observed a man disembarking a pirogue with two crocus bags in his hands.

As the officers approached the suspect, he dropped the bags and ran back to the boat, which then sped off.

Pistol, drugs seized in San Juan police exercise

One pistol and quantities of ammunition and marijuana were discovered by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the San Juan district, yesterday.

The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Surrendra Sagramsingh and supervised by Sgt. Simeon Guelmo and Cpl (Ag.) Jason Lavia, was conducted on Thursday 11th October, 2018, during which officers proceeded to Second Street, San Juan, and conducted a search of an empty lot of land.
