Missing fisherman's body found floating in Mosquito Creek

A fisherman who allegedly fell off a boat is discovered floating in waters off mosquito creek.
CNC3 News understands that around 5:30 am on Monday, Neil Ramkhelawan went fishing with another man. It was reported that while recovering a net Ramkhelawan fell off the vessel and disappeared in the waters. Several search efforts were unsuccessful up till late last evening. Around 7 am this morning a passerby spotted a body floating and alerted the police, Coast Guard officials were also informed and assisted in recovering the body.

Shore of peace cremation site on sale for $5.5 million

The controversy surrounding the cremation site at mosquito creek is set to intensify with a $5.5 million-dollar price tag being attached to the site.

This comes as the land owners are moving to enforce a decision to stop cremations at the site unless they are paid.

The site has been utilized for years with the Siparia Regional Corporation maintain the site.

The controversy surfaced during the last administration when a sign went up threatening that cremations at the venue would be stopped unless the government acquired the land.

Minister of Health: Exercise caution when purchasing fish

Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh is advising members of the public to exercise caution and good judgment as it relates to the purchasing and consumption of fresh fish on the local market.

Since the discovery of dead fish floating off waters of Mosquito Creek, some environmental activists have been telling T&T not to eat local fish.

Mr. Deyalsingh says the public health inspectorate of his ministry has been visiting fish depots cross country to ensure the proper standards were being adhered to.
